The streets spanning the city of Nawabs, the thinly veiled mist that gives way to the morning sun is the perfect setting for an energetic Sunday morning sprint, and whats more fitting a cause than to protect children, the custodians of our future from abuse, exploitation, violence and several evils like child labor that are rife in the society.
IIM Lucknows Manfest-Varchasva in association with the Women and Child Development cell presents the 8th Annual Lucknow City Run on the theme of Every Child deserves a home. If you are a firm believer in the cause, we urge you to take out your running shoes, warm up and come together to exhibit your solidarity.
Children are the embodiment of our aspirations, the recipient of our affection and concern. However, every child is not as fortunate. Some are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. The little ones devoid of homes and nurturing guardians dot the streets, forced to beg or steal, and denied the opportunity to step into a school. These innocent and impressionable children are subjected to various forms of violence and inhuman treatment, making them shut themselves out or walk the path of Violence as adults. Not every child gets a bed of roses, many are pricked with thorns. And for those unfortunate children, we need to ensure a better and brighter future.
Run through the streets of Lucknow, doing your bit for those innocent souls in dire need of a roof. Come, help us make this cause matter. Help us create more homes. Help us save more lives!
